Application for the Direct Entry Option for Incoming Freshmen

The Gail and Richard Lumpkin School of Nursing at 杏吧原创accepts a limited number of direct admit students each year. Admission is highly competitive and reserved for students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to nursing as their future profession and to pursuing their education at EIU.

The deadline to submit applications is December 1.

As part of the application, you are required to submit a letter of recommendation. One reference is required, up to 3 may be submitted. The reference can be a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, employer, or any one that can attest to your suitability to pursue and be successful in nursing.

Instructions for Submitting Letters of Recommendation:
1. Share the recommendation link with your chosen recommenders: /schoolofnursing/machform/view.php?id=28394
2. Your recommender will complete the secure online form.
3. You will not be able to view the contents of the letter, but you may confirm whether it has been received by emailing Mrs. Angi Hallowell at amhallowell@eiu.edu.

- Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.75
- High school coursework must include:
- 3 years of mathematics (including Algebra)
- 3 years of science (including Biology & Chemistry)

*Please Note: All offers of admission are conditional, pending receipt of final high school transcript to ensure that final grades are comparable to those on which the offer of admission was based. If a student鈥檚 academic standing changes and they no longer meet the established admission requirements, the offer of admission will be rescinded.
