We're in our Blue Period!! 👀💙 No images? AUGUST 2025![]() We're in our Blue PeriodBy Kaen Henry | Deputy Director of Public Engagement The Tarble has always been “all in” for Eastern Illinois University—rooted in its rhythms, inspired by its people, and driven by its mission to provide excellent, accessible, and inclusive education to tomorrow’s citizens and leaders. This year we are celebrating the deep connections between the Tarble and the EIU community past, present, and future, in what we are calling our blue period, as both a nod to the color that ties us together and the art historical term—although we are giving it a much more positive spin in our interpretation than the melancholy of Picasso’s works. Introducing Chris KahlerThe Tarble is pleased to introduce Mr. Christopher Kahler as our new Interim Director. Chris is the Chair of the Art Department at Eastern Illinois University, and he brings with him a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering artistic expression and community engagement. We are thrilled to have him step into this role during this exciting time of growth and transformation at the Tarble Arts Center. Under his leadership, we are confident the Tarble will continue to flourish and offer innovative programs that inspire and connect us.
