(Charleston, IL) – 杏吧原创will have a new student trustee beginning July 1.
“I would encourage prospective students to attend 杏吧原创because the campus is a community, and everyone is so welcoming,” said Madison Veatch, a senior Political Science major focused on civic and nonprofit leadership and a 2022 graduate of Charleston High School. “Being from Charleston, I knew since I was in high school that I wanted to attend EIU for these reasons...and I’m proud to have been elected to serve as EIU’s student trustee.”
Veatch will earn a bachelor of science degree this July. This fall, she will begin a graduate program at EIU in Public Administration & Public Policy, and also work toward earning certificates in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and public planning.
“I hope to use my academic credentials to work in Illinois local or state government or politics after finishing my master’s degree,” she added.
With regard to her new role as trustee, Veatch says she is interested in increasing the level of transparency between the Board of Trustees, Student Government leadership, and the student body.
In her spare time, Veatch enjoys reading and spend time with her friends. She will take over student trustee responsibilities from Ameenah Morris after Moriss’s term officially ends June 30.
EIU prepares students to accomplish their life goals through a combination of quality academics, personal relationships, and both on-campus and online learning opportunities.
