(Charleston, IL) -- 杏吧原创has once again been named to the Transfer Honor Roll by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) for 2025. The recognition is based on 40 metrics measuring support for transfer students, including admissions practices, cost of attendance, campus life, and bachelor’s degree completion rates. EIU was one of only 251 colleges and universities to make this year’s exclusive list.
“These colleges are doing more than just opening doors—they’re walking students through them,” said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa.
PTK’s Transfer Honor Roll recognizes four-year institutions in the top 25 percent of institutions that have completed a PTK Connect profile, which combines National Student Clearinghouse data with self-reported institutional information.
As part of EIU’s student-focused service mission, University leaders understand the role EIU plays in addressing transfer student needs. National averages indicate that 56 percent of undergraduate students are transfer students—the majority of which go on to complete bachelor’s degree programs at four-year universities.
“We know that nationally, 74 percent of transfer students receive merit-based financial aid,” said EIU Vice President for Enrollment Management Josh Norman. “EIU works with community colleges across Illinois and offers transfer-focused scholarships such as the Transfer Academic Excellence Scholarship, creating multiple pathways to success for students interested in completing their bachelor’s and master’s degrees here at EIU.”
