Lavender Graduation Celebration
About EIU's Lavender Graduation Celebration
Since 2011, EIU has had a Lavender Graduation Celebration to honor the GSD and ally students who are graduating with either their bachelor's or master's degree.
Sponsored by EIU Pride, the ceremony takes place on the Friday before the spring university commencement at 6PM.
We encourage all GSD and ally students graduating in either the spring or the following fall semester to participate in the Lavender Graduation Celebration.
If you are unable to attend and still want cords for graduation, please email us a week before graduation to schedule a time to pick those up. We also have small pins that people can wear that are more discreet.
