How We Collaborate

At the Office of International Programming and University Resources (IPUR), we believe that student success is a collective effort. Through strategic collaborations with campus departments, student organizations, and community partners, we provide international students with holistic, impactful support from arrival to graduation.

Campus Collaboration

IPUR works closely with a wide range of EIU offices and units to ensure international students receive wraparound services that support their academic, wellness, and co-curricular needs. Our key campus collaborators include:

We complement OISS’s immigration advising with programs that focus on cultural integration, personal development, and retention.

Together, we work to amplify underrepresented voices and promote inclusive, intersectional programming that celebrates global diversity.

Student Organization Partnerships

We collaborate with internationally focused RSOs and affinity groups to co-sponsor events, amplify student voices, and provide leadership development. Current partners include:

Students who want to launch global or culturally based initiatives are encouraged to reach out—IPUR offers advising and logistical support to bring ideas to life.

Community Engagement

International students are valuable members of the wider Charleston and Central Illinois community. IPUR works with local organizations to promote cultural exchange, civic engagement, and cross-cultural learning.

Our community partnerships include:

  • Charleston Public Library & Parks Department-

    International Culture Night, art workshops, and volunteering opportunities.
  • Area Places of Worship-
    Interfaith dialogues, holiday meals, and friendship families.
  • Local Farms & Businesses-
    Field trips, community markets, and business tours.
  • Volunteer & Service Programs-
    Opportunities for international students to give back and build meaningful connections outside campus.
