International Bowling Night
When: August & January (Each Semester Kickoff)
Where: EIU Bowling Lanes, MLK Jr. Union
Description:
Start the semester with strikes, laughter, and new friendships! International Bowling
Night is a fun, casual social mixer that welcomes new and returning international
students. With music, snacks, and spirited competition, it's the perfect setting to
build community from day one.
International Night at Lantz Gym
When: September (Fall Semester)
Where: Lantz Arena
Description:
Join us as international students show their Panther pride during a featured EIU Women’s
Volleyball game! This spirited event includes pre-game socializing, free food and
drinks, and a vibrant halftime presentation featuring international student flags
and cultural recognition. A night of unity, school spirit, and global energy.
Global Culture Night
When: November (Fall Semester)
Where: University Ballroom, MLK Jr. Union
Description:
Our premier cultural celebration of the fall semester! Global Culture Night features
international students showcasing their heritage through traditional and modern performances,
fashion shows, music, and dance. It's an unforgettable night that honors cultural
expression and celebrates EIU’s rich global diversity.
Holi – Festival of Colors
When: April (Spring Semester)
Where: Library Quad
Description:
A joyful and colorful celebration of spring rooted in South Asian tradition, Holi
is one of our most anticipated outdoor events. With music, dancing, colored powders,
and food, this event invites the campus community to celebrate unity, renewal, and
fun in a vibrant splash of color.
International Awards Ceremony
When: April (Spring Semester)
Where: Doudna Fine Arts Center
Description:
A formal event honoring the contributions, achievements, and leadership of international
students and campus partners. The International Awards Ceremony recognizes academic
excellence, cultural leadership, and community impact, while also celebrating graduating
international students with certificates and heartfelt recognition.
